Business Advisors
Purpose of Advisory Committees
Careerline Tech Center programs are designed to provide students with the skills and training necessary for employment based on industry standards and advanced related training after high school. We value our partners in business and industry who provide opportunities for our students including: full time and part time employment, job shadows, work experiences, and co-op education.
To keep pace with industry standards, each program at Careerline Tech Center enlists individuals to serve as advisors to provide recommendations and input on curriculum and program direction. An advisory committee consists of individuals from business, industry, and education who represent a specific vocational area.
Committee recommendations and input given to Tech Center staff and administration are shared with the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District Board of Education. The Board, which operates within parameters established by local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations of the Michigan Department of Education, has the legal authority to take action on recommendations. Due to legal, financial, physical, and/or priority limitations, recommendations may not be adopted, however, all committee recommendations and proposals will be considered.
