This program is for students who have successfully completed the CNA, Phlebotomy, Patient Care Tech or Surgical Tech class during their first year. The foundation and skills learned are expanded to include a more complex and demanding curriculum. Emphasis is placed on three major areas of focus: academics and skill building, certification opportunities, and field placements. Students will study advanced skills such as EKG, injections, sterile technique, point of care testing (i.e. Strep test) and working alongside a physician in the doctor’s office. The curriculum focus is to provide engaging hands-on skills and work experience to put their learning into practice. The opportunity to earn a Clinical Medical Assisting certification is available after successful course completion. Additional certifications may be offered in Patient Care Technician, Mental Health Technician, CPR/First Aid, Customer Service and OSHA.
