Career Coaching Steps

  • Step 1: Assessing Yourself
Students will use ACT’s Talent assessment to measure work-related attitudes and behaviors. Students will also utilize ACT’s Fit assessment to measure interests and values and match them to aligned occupations.
  • Step 2: Understanding Yourself
Students will gain an understanding of themselves through an individual meeting with their career coach to go over, in-depth, their assessment results.
  • Step 3: Exploring Careers
Students will choose at least three jobs to explore. Students will be guided through exploring their chosen careers. They will gain insight on daily activities, skills and education needed anticipated growth, wage rate, and many more useful decision-making tools.
  • Step 4: Deciding on a Career
After the students explore careers, they will go through their results with a career coach as they begin deciding which career would be best for them based on their assessment results and career exploration. Students will also look at possible education and career options.
  • Step 5: Planning Your Future
After a career path has been decided; students will lay out their plan for obtaining their chosen career path.
